A regularly scheduled meeting for the United Bikers of Maine, Piscataquis County, was held at 7pm at the Bear's Den in
Dover-Foxcroft, on October 19th, 2009. Asst. County Director Vicki Sylvia presided over the meeting.
ASSISTANT CD'S REPORT:
1. Vicki noted that several Incentive members were not printed in the last edition of the state newsletter.
This will be corrected.
2. Somerset County is holding a Halloween Dance and party on 10/24 at the Solon Hotel.
3. Johnny B says "hi" and wanted us to know it's in the 80's in Florida
4. Vicki and Josh went to the last state meeting and to the fall safety seminar.
5. Next state meeting will be on 10/28/09.
SECRETARY'S REPORT: Minutes from last meeting read & approved.

OPEN FORUM DISCUSSION:
1. Abbott Town hall set us a thank you card for the toys we donated.
2. The Dover-Foxcroft Kiwanis sent us a thank-you card for the toys we donated.
3. Toys from the toy run were distributed to the Dover-Foxcroft & Milo Kiwanis. Also, 2 (each) large bags
of stuffed animals were donated to C.A. Dean Hospital
(Greenville) and Mayo Hospital (Dover-Foxcroft). The Piscataquis Observer was
on hand to take pictures and for an article in the paper.
4. The American Legion Riders,
Post 29, Dover-Foxcroft, want to combine with Piscataquis UBM next summer and have some bike games once or twice a month. They have a storage shed that they
said we could use to store our bike game equipment in, if needed. Contact person for this is ALR Director Frank Michaud.
5. Josh went to the last MMPAC meeting, and provided us a really good briefing of what went on at the meeting.
Josh has volunteered to be Piscataquis' representative to the Maine Motorcycle Political Action Committee. The
meeting is open to everyone, and is a separate entity from the UBM.
NEW BUSINESS:
1. 2009 toy run was one of the best ones ever!!!
2. Eric Fuller won 2009 Officer of the Year for the UBM.
3. We got a $60 gift card to WalMart from the toy run. We voted to purchase hats, gloves, mittens, etc.,
with it and give them to the Kiwanis.
4. Fulton Butler was elected as the State VP for the UBM.
5. Bill G. will do an article for the next state newsletter. Deadline is 12/10/09. He will get it approved
through Vicki before he sends it out for print. It will (hopefully) include pictures from our toy donations.
6. We voted to purchase a 1st aid kit that will be carried with us on all organized county rides. We will
table the actual purchase of this until next riding season. We need to come up with a location to store it.
7. Roxanne is looking into someone being able to train all of us in basic 1st aid and CPR. We will look
into conducting this training at the American Legion Hall in Dover-Foxcroft.
More information on this will be available at the next meeting.
8. Brick & Shana will have a Haloween costume party
at their house (Maple Street in Atkinson) at 7pm, 10/31/09. There will be a bonfire. BYOB and snacks to share.
9. We need to come up with three major events for the next state UBM newsletter...deadline 12/10/09. We need
these by the next meeting. We know that at least 2 of them are likely to be our annual UBM open house & membership
drive; and our Field Day. NOTE: New information after the meeting disclosed that we have been approved to use
the Piscataquis County Fairgrounds on July 17, 2010 for
our Field Day. The Fair Association is also willing to open their concession stnad and provide drinks for us.

10. Preliminary discussion was started to designate someone from our group to be a ride coordinator and/or Captain.
This person would organize, brief, and lead the county rides.
OLD BUSINESS:
1. The fall foliage ride and last bike nite on 10/11 went very well. We had a blast listening to DeJaBlue
at the Bear's Den, and a HUGE thanks to Brian for hosting such a great event.
2. Between our last 50/50 and the silent auction, we raised around $170.
3. Kendall Noke's UBM membership has been renewed courtesy of Piscataquis County. Kendall is on pre-mobility
status for an up-coming 1-year deployment to Afghanistan. We are proud
of Kendall, and thank him for his service to our country.
4. Our annual UBM Christmas Party and Yankee-Gift-Swap will be on 12/12/09, 2pm, at Katie's Bar & Grill
in Guilford. If you want to participate in the presents, bring a swap gift. This party will also serve
as our December UBM meeting.
5. Tuesday bike nights will resume in the spring (2010) at the Bear's Den in Dover-Foxcroft.
6. We will plan on using both the Bear's Den and Victory Motor Sports as starting/ending points for our rides next
year, depending on our destination.
